Transportation Disadvantaged Eligibility "Transportation Disadvantaged" refers to those persons who, because of
physical or mental disability, income status, or age, are unable to
transport themselves or to purchase transportation and are therefore
dependent upon others to obtain access to health care, employment,
education, shopping, social activities, or other life-sustaining
activities, or children who are handicapped or high-risk or at-risk as
defined in Florida Statutes 411.202.
Door-to-door services and shuttle deviations are available from Sumter County Transit. A qualifying application is required to receive these services.
Rides to Work (WRAP)
The Sumter County Board of County Commissioners in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation is providing a free ride to qualified applicants Monday through Friday, to and from work in Sumter County. Youngsters of eligible passengers on their way to and from work can ride with their parents to and from childcare.
